Rob Deignan

Rob is a 2011 Graduate of FLCC’s Viticulture and Enology program and has been making wine and hard cider in the Finger Lakes region for over 15 years.

Rob founded Upstate Cider Consulting in 2015 after seeing an explosion of growth in the Hard Cider market. In 2024, Rob decided to clarify his message and rebrand to Finger Lakes Wine Consulting.

Rob has worked as a Winemaker for several Finger Lakes Wineries and has the unique experience of producing very large batches of wine as well as single barrel lots. In the first ten years of his carrer he worked with many different clients through a large Custom Crush facility, overseing the production of over one million gallons of wine and hundreds of thousands of gallons of hard cider annually.

His passion is producing his own private label sparkling wine. He hopes to share the first vintage of 2021 Blanc de Blanc with the world in 2025.
